SLB, formerly known as Schlumberger, is the world’s largest offshore drilling company.

The company continues to operate in Russia after its massive 2022 invasion of Ukraine, even as other oil giants leave the country.

SLB has been criticized for continuing to work in Russia’s oil sector even as Russian oil profits were used to fund Putin’s war against Ukraine. The $28 billion business is being dubbed a “sponsor of international warfare.”

From now on, SLB will no longer supply the Russian oilfields with products or technology from any of its facilities around the world. In its announcement, the SLB joined “the international community in condemning and calling for an end to the war in Ukraine.”
