Uzbekistan determined to make history at U-17 World Cup

Solo: Uzbekistan U-17 national team coach Jamoliddin Rakhmatullaev emphasized that the 2023 U-17 World Cup is a valuable opportunity for his team to create new history.

For the Uzbekistan U-17 national team, the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia is the third participation. They have a relatively impressive record at this level. In the two previous editions, the White Wolves youth team always managed to progress through the knockout stages.

Their first participation in the 2011 edition even managed to reach the quarter-finals. Unfortunately, Uzbekistan were beaten by Uruguay with two unanswered goals. Meanwhile, in the 2013 edition, they reached the top 16. Honduras stopped their move with a close score of 1-0.


Jamoliddin Rakhmatullaev stressed that this edition was an important impetus for his players to enter a new history. The Uzbekistan U-17 national team is determined to aim for better results than its two previous performances at the U-17 World Cup.

“Yes, Uzbekistan is generally able to participate in the World Cup at youth level. And it is true that our best result was the quarter-finals of the 2011 edition. We will try to write a new history during the 2023 U-17 World Cup. and make our country even better. recognized”, said Jamoliddin Rakhmatullaev, Tuesday (07/11/2023).

According to Jamoliddin Rakhmatullaev, his team showed great motivation to achieve this ambition. However, this goal is not easy to achieve because each team has its own goals.

“Regarding the motivation aspect, I think the Uzbekistan U-17 national team does not have any problems. As you know, all players in the Indonesian U-17 World Cup 2023 understand the magnitude of this championship,” he said.

According to him, the two most important aspects developed before the first match are the physical and the psychological. These two things are considered important for players to face the tough competition presented in this championship.

“That’s why we have to try to give the best of ourselves on the pitch. Regarding motivation, every football player has to understand what he has to do,” he said.

“That is why we also finalized the psychological and physical aspects during the preparation period,” he said.

At the 2023 U-17 World Cup, Uzbekistan is in Group B with Spain, Mali and Canada. For the first match, they will face Mali at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Friday (11/10/2023) at 4:00 p.m. WIB.
