SERAMBINEWS.COM – In commemoration of the Islamic New Year 1445 AH, the Acehnese community in Canada organized a festival called Muharram Islamic Competition.
The festival will take place at the Meunasah belonging to the Acehnese community, in Vancouver on Sunday July 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Canadian time.
Amri Fazzil, a community member based in Vancouver and part of the Acehnese Canadian community, explained to Serambinews that the Muharram Islamic Competition is an annual event organized by the Acehnese community in Canada.
In addition to connecting with the Acehnese people in Canada, the Muharram festival also aims to introduce Islamic culture and festivals to the younger generation of Acehnese living abroad.
This activity was therefore filled with competitions on the Islamic religion organized for the younger generation, namely the children of the Acehnese community in Canada.
The festival competition to welcome the Islamic New Year 1445 H brought together 50 children from the Canadian community in Aceh, aged 7 to 17 years old.
This activity competes in several religious fields, such as fiqh, tajweed and other Islamic religious knowledge.
