VNL 2023: beat Germany, Italy take second win in Canada

Volleyball News: Playing in Ottawa on Saturday (10/06), Italy earned their second VNL 2023 win by beating Germany 3-1 (25-23, 25-18, 25-27, 25-19).

Tommaso Rinaldi and Yuri RomanĂ² were Italy’s most effective players in the game with 18 and 17 points respectively, but Germany were also the game’s top scorers thanks to Linus Weber, who produced 19 points.

Among other matches, the United States enter the final day of the 2023 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) opening week as one of only three national teams undefeated after beating Canada on Saturday (10/06) , in Ottawa.

The United States played to a packed house at TD Place with nearly every fan backing Canada. The United States finally managed to clinch their third victory with the score of 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-20) in VNL 2023 which maintains their still perfect record in Pool 1.

Bronze medalist at the Rio Olympics in 2016, Matt Anderson, 36, was a key player in America’s triumph.

He was the team’s leading scorer the entire game. His stats improved from seven points against Italy to 18 against Canada.

“Every time we play against Canada, and especially in front of the home crowd, it’s a good experience for us to go forward,” Anderson said after the match was quoted by volleyballworld.
