Wildfires rage in Canada, haze covers the United States

NEW YORK – More than a dozen states united states of america (USA) is under warning air quality on Wednesday local time when the smoke of hundreds Forest fires Canada expand to the south. A dull gray color took over the skies of American cities and prompted authorities to urge residents to stay indoors.

Health officials from Vermont to South Carolina along the US East Coast, as well as Ohio and Kansas in the Midwest, are urging millions of residents to limit their time outside the House. They warned that fine particles in the atmosphere could make it difficult to breathe and pose a health risk.

The US National Weather Service has issued an air quality warning from New England to South Carolina.

“Wearing a mask can help limit irritation for people with respiratory illnesses,” the Washington area office wrote on Twitter.

“(There will be) more smoke on Thursday and Friday,” the tweet continued, as quoted by ReutersThursday (8/6/2023).

East Coast schools have canceled outdoor activities, including sports practices, field trips and breaks, to protect students from smog.

In Bethesda, Maryland, a high school moved its graduation ceremony indoors, while an elementary school in Brooklyn, New York postponed its “Spring Fling” dance. A school in Montclair, New Jersey, has canceled a fifth-grade trip to the Six Flags amusement park.

Public schools in New York were open for classes, although outdoor events and activities, including high school graduations, were canceled, postponed or moved indoors.
