8 teams use Bali as base camp ahead of U-17 World Cup

Denpasar: The island of Bali is the favorite city where a number of candidate teams for the 2023 U-17 World Cup can be forged. In early November, the Bali United Training Center, Gelora Samudera Kuta Field and Gelora Trisakti Legian Field were started taking care of training sessions for several teams.

On Ocean Field there were Polish and Spanish teams. Meanwhile, on the Trisakti field, the last training session of Iranian and Uzbek troops took place. On the other hand, at the Bali United Training Center, four teams use it as a base camp. Namely Canada, the United States, Mexico and Japan.

Canada and Mexico held an open training session on Thursday, November 2. Wanting to focus on preparations, they both limited their interactions with journalists. Mexico only gave journalists 15 minutes to take photos of them training. Canada did not even open an interview session with the media team.

Even more extreme, Japan and the United States have chosen closed training. Japan had a reason, he had just arrived on the Island of the Gods and immediately held training on Thursday afternoon. Players and officials are still exhausted.

Practically, only Mexico was willing to submit to interview sessions with journalists. Two of their players, midfielder Fidel Barajas and defender Javen Adrian Romero, were lined up to answer questions from the media team. The South American team arrived two days ago and has already completed two training sessions. Fidel Barajas complained about the heat.

“It’s really hot, my body is sticky,” he explained briefly. The young Charleston Battery midfielder spoke about the training program provided by coach Raul Chabrand.

“We are more tactical before the U-17 World Cup. I think we are happy to be able to train here. Surrounded by the beach at the training ground. We are ready to face competition on the tournament stage” , did he declare.

The candidate teams for the 2023 U-17 World Cup have arrived in our country one by one. It is enough to mention the competitors of the Indonesian U-17 national team in Group A, Panama.

According to a report from the Panamanian Football Federation (FEPAFUT), the players will undergo a gym training session at the hotel on Thursday, November 2 morning WIB. In the afternoon, a training session was planned on the field.
