Badminton athletes from 13 countries compete in Malang

Poor: A total of 238 athletes from 13 countries will participate in the tournament badminton Mansion Sports Indonesia International Challenge 2022. Tournament sport Tepok Bulu will be held in the city of Malang, East Java, from October 11 to 16, 2022.

“The presence of 238 participants from 13 countries will make the competition tough and hot,” said the president of the tournament’s organizing committee, Armand Darmaji, on Monday, October 10, 2022.

International badminton athletes came from Austria, Canada, China, Estonia, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and America.

“There’s Weng Hong Yang from China, Goh Jin Wei from Malaysia, Sim Yu Jin from Korea, including Korean senior player Son Wan Ho and two men’s doubles from the land of the Bamboo Curtain,” he said.

In addition to international athletes, the tournament also attracted national athletes. Among them are Ikhsan Leonardo Imanuel Rumbay, Putri Kusuma Wardani, Pramudya Kusumawardana with Rahmat Hidayat and Ribka Sugiarto with Lanny Tria Mayasari.

“Then there is Nita Violina Marwah who is paired with a new partner in two sectors. Nita will be paired with Tryola Nadia in women’s doubles and Adnan Maulana in mixed doubles,” he added.

The General Chairman of the All-Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) Provincial Council of East Java, Tony Wahyudi fully supports this international level badminton tournament. He hopes the tournament can be a starting point for the development of young badminton.

“Hopefully, this tournament will be the starting point for the rise of badminton in East Java, which is known for giving birth to the grassroots badminton players of the Red and Whites,” he said.
