The White House said Biden spoke with the leaders of Britain, Canada, France, Germany and Italy.

“The leaders reaffirmed their support for Israel and its right to defend itself against terrorism and called for respect for international humanitarian law, including the protection of civilians,” the White House said, reported by CNA, Monday (23 /10/2023).

The leaders reportedly discussed their citizens trapped in the war. Israel-Hamas, especially those who want to leave Gaza.

The fighting spiraled out of control and more people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza as the humanitarian situation in the region worsened.

A total of 17 aid trucks have arrived in Gaza as the Hamas-controlled territory faces a shortage of supplies.

As is known, Hamas militants invaded and attacked the border with Israel on October 7, carrying out attacks that killed at least 1,400 people and took more than 200 hostages.

Gaza’s health ministry said Israel responded with relentless bombing that has so far killed more than 4,600 Palestinians, mostly civilians.

During the discussions, Western leaders expressed their commitment to ensuring sustainable and safe access to food, water, medical care and other assistance necessary to meet humanitarian needs.

Furthermore, he promised to carry out close diplomatic coordination to prevent widespread conflict, maintain stability in the Middle East, and strive to achieve a political solution and lasting peace.

Meanwhile, the White House said that in addition to Biden, among those who received the coordination call also included Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
