BNI expands its lending services to the diaspora in Canada

Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) continues to strive to maximize the business potential of the diaspora community, including providing diaspora loan facilities to Axia Distribution located in Vancouver and Nai-Nai Noodles located in Toronto, Canada.

Henry Panjaitan, BNI's International Treasury Director, said BNI's diaspora lending service, this time distributed by BNI New York, had also been effective in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, in England and the United States.

Axia Distribution, for its part, is a company belonging to the Indonesian diaspora and established since 2004 in Vancouver. This company imports goods in the form of kitchen mats from Indonesia for sale in Canada and the United States.

Meanwhile, Nai-Nai Noodles is a restaurant that sells typical Indonesian chicken noodles, founded two years ago by an Indonesian diaspora in Toronto named Sherlin.

While signing the pledge which was done virtually, Sherlin of Nai-Nai Noodles expressed that she felt very helped and grateful for BNI New York's support for her small and medium-sized businesses.

On the same occasion, Axia Distribution declared that the loan from BNI New York was very useful to it in developing its activity.

Moving forward, Henry added that BNI New York will continue to explore and play an active role in facilitating Indonesian diaspora-owned MSME businesses in the United States and Canada.

Indonesian Ambassador to Canada Daniel Tumpal Simanjuntak appreciated BNI's proactive measures in Canada, which has 21,000 Indonesian diasporas.
