Caroline Garcia eliminates Leylah Annie Fernandez at Wimbledon

Tennis News: French tennis player Caroline Garcia fought tooth and nail to avoid defeat in the second round of Wimbledon in the 2023 season.

In what could have been one of the shock defeats at Wimbledon this season after the match had to be decided via a third-set tiebreaker, the French national avoided defeat by snatching a 3-6 6- 4 7-6 over US Open runners. -up this 2021 season, Annie Fernandez.

“I wouldn’t say I found my groove,” Garcia said as he corrected reporters’ questions. “I mean I just won 7-6 in the third round. I could probably cry in the shower right now. How tight the last set was.

Annie Fernandez lost to the fifth seed in their two encounters this season at the Australian Open and Indian Wells, but managed to steal the opening set in their second-round encounter at Wimbledon. However, the French national managed to equalize by winning the second set before dominating the third set tie-break.
