China caused a sensation after the government led by President Xi Jinping want to modify the translation of the Quran to combine Islamic and Confucian values.

Another issue is that diplomatic relations between India and Canada have heated up over the past week, following Canada’s accusation that the Indian government was involved in the murder of a Sikh separatist leader in Vancouver in June.

The following is today’s International Flash, Friday (9/22).

The Chinese government is reportedly changing the translation of the holy book Al-Quran, which combines Islamic teachings and Confucian values.

This is just one example of the Xi Jinping government’s efforts to sinify Islam. Sinification is the process of changing something, according to Chinese culture.

This Chinese version of the Quran translation is said to use Confucianism to interpret the holy book. This interpretation refers to a collection of Islamic translations and Mandarin writings from the Qing dynasty known as the Book of Han.

Saudi Arabia and Israel are in the spotlight after showing signs that normalization is getting closer. Iran is also concerned about whether these two countries actually open diplomatic relations.

Signs of normalization between the two countries are becoming clearer following the increasingly outspoken behavior of Saudi Arabia and Israel in public regarding relations between the two countries.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said normalization with Saudi Arabia was moving closer thanks to support from the United States.

Meanwhile, in a separate interview, Saudi Crown Prince MbS said that Saudi-Israeli normalization is getting closer every day, although both countries must fulfill important conditions regarding the Palestinian issue.

Troubled diplomatic relations have forced India to suspend the issuance of visas to Canadian citizens. This was the result of Canada’s accusations that India was involved in the murder of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

“Important announcement from the Indian Mission: For operational reasons, effective September 21, 2023, Indian visa services are suspended until further notice,” BLS International published on its website, Thursday (9/21).

Relations between India and Canada are strained after Nijjar’s murder. Last June, he died after two unknown assailants shot him outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, near Vancouver.

After Nijjar’s death, the Canadian government said Indian agents were involved in the killing. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also called on Narendra Modi’s government to respond to the “very serious” allegations.
