Football News: USA beat Canada 2-0 on Sunday (18/06) in Las Vegas to secure their second straight CONCACAF Nations League title.

First-half goals from Chris Richards and Folarin Balogun were enough to give the United States victory in their first meeting with Canada in the tournament final.

Richards opened the scoring when he headed in Gio Reyna’s corner in the 12th minute. Reyna was the goal-creator again in the 34th minute when her through ball was used by Balogun.

The game was the last match of Canadian captain Atiba Hutchinson’s international career. The 40-year-old, who helped his country reach the 2022 World Cup after a 36-year absence and is Canada’s all-time best side with 104 appearances, came off the bench at the end of their victory in semi-final against Panama, but missed the CONCACAF Nations League final. .

Mexico beat Panama 1-0 earlier on Sunday (6/18) in the hunt for third place. This game was also the last game for coach Diego Cocca and national team manager Rodrigo Ares De Parga.

The FMF has announced that Jaime Lozano, who led Mexico to a bronze medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, will take over as interim manager.
