E-commerce in India gives employees up to 11 days for work-life balance

NEW DELHI, KOMPAS.com – In an effort to prioritize the mental health of its employees, e-commerce platform Meesho announced a company-wide 11-day “reset and recharge break” for the second year in a row.

Reported NDTVan update posted on their website reveals that the initiative aims to allow employees to “really leave work”.

Businesses are prioritizing their mental well-being after a busy sales period.

Founder and CTO Sanjeev Barnwal made the announcement on Twitter, stressing that work-life balance is essential for good mental health.

“We have announced a company-wide 11-day break for the second consecutive year! In light of the upcoming holiday season and the importance of work-life balance, Meeshoites will take a much needed leave for Reset & Recharge from Oct. 22 to Nov. 1,” he said.

Meesho previously announced an “unlimited” workplace model, which includes unlimited health leave, 30 weeks of gender-neutral parental leave and 30 days of gender reassignment leave.
