Folarin Balogun gives code regarding his future at Arsenal

Transfer News: Arsenal and Folarin Balogun appear to be parting ways this summer, although the striker enjoyed a memorable season in France with Stade de Reims.

The 21-year-old scored 21 Ligue 1 goals last season, adding to his selling points and earning him a spot in the United States national team. Folarin Balogun made his debut for the United States in a win over Mexico in the CONCACAF Nations League semi-finals earlier this month, before opening his account three days later against the Canada.

With two years remaining on his current contract at the Emirates Stadium, Balogun is set to end his 15-year spell at Arsenal. He will be Mikel Arteta’s fourth striker, behind Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and now Kai Havertz.

Interest is growing and three Serie A clubs namely Napoli, AC Milan and Inter Milan are all monitoring Balogun’s situation, while Marseille and AS Monaco have been impressed with the striker’s performances in France last season.

While on international duty, Balogun made it clear he did not want to be loaned out again, having also been sent to Middlesbrough. Now, the player has teased supporters that a decision over his future could be imminent.

Writing on Twitter at 6am UK time, he said: “It’s time!”. Also note that the location of the tweet indicates that the 21-year-old is back in England, more precisely in Enfield, 10 miles from London Colney.

In April, it was reported that the striker and Arsenal would hold talks over his future this summer. It is understood he will push for a move if he doesn’t get a chance next season.

Ultimate Team the gunners will gradually return to training next week for the pre-season. After Balogun’s involvement at international level two weeks ago, he is unlikely to return anytime soon. If neither of these decisions bear fruit, Balogun could be involved in a pre-season trip to the United States in July.
