Technology.id – Disney+ users, get ready because big changes are coming! Disney Plus announced a new policy prohibiting the sharing of account passwords, similar to what Netflix has done in the past. Let’s discuss these changes so that you can understand them well.

Starting November 1, 2023, Disney Plus will prohibit its use to share passwords with people outside the household. This policy will apply worldwide, but users in Canada will be the first to experience it.

On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, Disney Plus officially announced a ban on sharing passwords with users in Canada. They strongly warn that violating these rules may result in deactivation of user accounts.

Disney Plus states: “If we discover that you have violated this Agreement, we may limit or terminate access to the Service and/or take other actions permitted by this Agreement. » This is a serious step taken by Disney Plus to solve the problem of password sharing.

Disney CEO Bob Iger previously said he planned to end the practice of password sharing. Netflix broke the same rule by limiting the sharing of account passwords and charging an additional $8 fee for additional users.

However, it is not yet clear whether Disney Plus will also increase fees for additional accounts like Netflix did. Disney Plus has yet to provide an official comment on this matter.

Iger also added: “We are actively looking for ways to manage accounts and better options for paying customers to share their accounts with friends and family.” This suggests that Disney Plus may be looking for a fairer solution for users who want to share their accounts with loved ones.

Disney+ increases service prices

However, keep in mind that while Disney Plus may be looking for other solutions, they plan to increase the prices of their services starting October 12, 2023, including service categories in partnership with Hulu. So make sure to pay attention to these changes in your subscription.
