Hockey/Kobayashi fail in 2024 Canada Open quarter-finals

Badminton News: The shock came after former Japanese world champion Takuro Hoki / Yugo Kobayashi had to be eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Canada Open World Tour Super 500 tournament.

Hockey/Kobayashi failed to beat his Japanese national team compatriot, Akira Koga/Taichi Saito in two consecutive games which were quite close with the score of 22-20 and 21-18, in a match which s took place at the Markin MacPhail Center, Calgary Canada on Saturday (8/7) morning WIB.

Akira Koga / Taichi Saito, who are the seventh seeds, will try to advance to the final of the Canada Open 2023 against the representatives of Denmark, Rasmus Kjaer / Frederik Sogaard, who managed to get rid of the representatives of Taiwan , Chiu Hsiang Chieh / Yang Ming Tse quite easily 21-14 and 21-10.

Another ticket to the top four at the 2023 Canada Open was won by Denmark’s third seed and European Champion, Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen who successfully defeated Japan’s representatives, Keiichiro Matsui/ Yoshinori Takeuchi in two fairly easy consecutive games with a score of 21-13 and 21 -10.

On the other hand, the Indonesian second seed, the pair Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan, had to admit the superiority of their sworn enemy, who is also the gold medalist of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 from Taiwan, Lee Yang / Wang Chi Lin, in two fairly simple and straight games with a score of 17-21 and 13-21.
