Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo said the Israeli team did not participate in the 2023 ANOC World Beach Games (AWBG) in Bali. Therefore, he said there would be no objections because Israel did not participate in the event.

“That’s for sure. There is no problem, the Olympic committee released the participating countries on April 27. I did not see the name of Israel. So there is no controversy,” said Dito Ariotedjo, reported by Antara, Thursday (4/27/2023).

The ANOC World Beach Games will bring together 69 countries in Bali from April 28 to May 1, 2023.

“So ‘clear’ that there will be no rejection,” Dito said.

The ANOC World Beach Games (AWBG) Bali is known to be held from August 5-12, 2023 and will continue with the ANOC General Assembly from August 13-15, 2023. The AWBG is the largest multi-branch event based on the number of participating countries which has never been held in Indonesia and can become a springboard for the bid to host the 2036 Olympics.

At the CoM meeting, the Indonesia ANOC World Beach Games Organizing Committee will present the host’s readiness, such as arena, accommodation, transportation and others. AWBG Bali 2023 will bring together approximately 1,600 athletes from 130 countries. Athletes who show up must go through a rigorous qualification process until July 2023.

The following participating countries are confirmed to attend the 2nd Chefs de Mission (CoM) Meeting of the ANOC 2023 World Beach Games in Bali from April 28 to May 1:
