Sandiaga welcomes the arrival of the first tourists in 2024 in Bali

Badung – Tourism Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno welcomed the first tourism representatives in 2024, namely a couple from Toronto, Canada who will be vacationing for a month in Bali. Besides Canadian couples, Korean couples were also welcome.

They arrived on a Korean Air plane from Incheon with 273 passengers around 00:00 WITA. Sandiaga accompanied by Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, or commonly known as Cok Ace, immediately presented the married couples with a bouquet of flowers.

“It’s an honor that the first foreign tourist visit is a couple from Toronto who will be in Indonesia for a month, visiting Bali,” Sandiaga said at the loading dock terminal for international arrivals at I Gusti Airport. Ngurah Rai, Sunday (1/1/2023) early in the morning.

In Bali, he said they would visit several places. After that, they will dive and travel to Yogyakarta and several other tourist destinations in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, at the scene, the three couples were happy as they were wreathed with flowers and Sandiaga spoke to them. Tourists also appreciate being welcomed by an original Balinese dance.

Sandiaga is targeting the number of tourist arrivals at 7.4 million for Indonesia next year. Meanwhile for Bali, he said 4 million. Compared to this year, the number of tourist arrivals in Bali exceeded the target of 1.5 million.

“Reached with 2.2 million astungkara, so tourism and MSMEs, the target was greatly exceeded and the number of jobs, it reached 1.1 million, the target of the upper limit of job creation. Jobs is optimistic that 2023 will be the year we wake up due to projects starting in March 2022,” he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of Bali Cok Ace with the arrival of foreign tourists is a good start for Bali tourism in 2024.

“Hopefully it’s a good start as they will be staying 1 month in Bali. With 1/5 to 1 week left now, we hope to return to our good old days of 10 days, hopefully it will be a good start”, did he declare.
