JAKARTA, BALIPOST.com – The Indonesian Navy has prepared warships (KRI) to secure the implementation of the G20 summit to be held in Bali in November 2022. A total of 12 warships will be alerted.

“In the meantime, we are preparing 12 KRIs, later we will appoint Admiral Pangkoarmada II TNI TSNB Hutabarat as operational control command (Kodal Ops) within the framework of securing the sea”, said the Chief of Staff TNI AL (Kasal) Admiral TNI Yudo Margono, after leading the handover ceremony, received the post (Sertijab) of Commander Indonesian Fleet Command (Pangkoarmada RI) from Vice Admiral TNI Abdul Rasyid to Rear Admiral TNI Heru Kusmanto at Koarmada I in central Jakarta, as quoted by Antara news agency on Tuesday. According to him, the plan to secure the G20 summit is still under discussion by the commander of the TNI, General Andika Perkasa. “At this meeting, I also signaled that we are ready later with the elements that stand, whether it is later the mobilization of the base elements or the use of the title element. That is still in meeting, with the existing budget, we have to forecast how many KRIs will be prepared,” Yudo said.

According to him, in the waters of Bali, there could be a security of foreign warships whose delegations participate in the G20 summit. “Since this is Indonesian territory, of course we will control them. In this maritime sector, we will regulate where is the position of foreign warships, where is the position of the KRI to conduct patrols,” said former Pangkogabwilhan I.

This, Yudo said, has become an international agreement. If it is a country that exercises foreign activities and ships that will secure its head of state on the territory of this country, this country will organize its patrol sector.

The 17th G20 Summit will be held in Bali on November 15-16, 2022. The Summit will be the culmination of an intensive process and effort throughout the G20 workflow (ministerial-level meetings, working groups and engagement groups) during Indonesia’s one-year presidency. .

Indonesia’s theme for the G20 Presidency in 2022 is Recover Together, Recover Stronger. Through this theme, the Government wants to invite the whole world to work hand in hand, to support each other in order to recover together, and become stronger and more sustainable.

The top three priority issues raised at the meeting were global health architecture, sustainable energy transition, and digital and economic transformation.

The G20 is a forum for multilateral cooperation made up of 19 major countries and the European Union. The G20 represents more than 60% of the world’s population, 75% of world trade and 80% of world gross domestic product (GDP).

G20 members are South Africa, United States of America, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Russia, France, China and Turkey. and the European Union. (Kmb/Balipost)
