The Embassy of Canada celebrates International Women’s Day via Dialogue for the Empowerment of Women

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Coinciding with International Women’s Day, the Canadian Embassy presented a dialogue event, namely quick mentoring at Wisma Canada, South Jakarta on Wednesday (03/08/2023).

The event also invited Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia Nadia Burger and Chargé d’Affaires Vicky Singmin from the Canadian Mission to ASEAN.

Not only ambassadors Nadia and Vicky, the event also invited several other guests as mentors who were women with careers in various fields.

“International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate our success as women,” Ambassador Nadia said in her remarks.

Ambassador Nadia presented a study showing that the participation and activity of women in society is very important. Indeed, gender equality can contribute to economic growth, protect fundamental human rights and create a strong and healthy democratic environment.

“We have the skills and knowledge to contribute and lead businesses, organizations, cities and countries,” he said.

Ambassador Nadia also hopes that participants in quick mentoring been able to learn a lot from the twelve mentors present.

Not only do the mentors share their experiences and motivate the participants, but the participants are allowed to ask the mentors as many questions as possible.

“Gender inequality occurs in all areas of social and political life,” Vicky said.

“So let’s use this hour or two to share experiences with the great mentors who attended today,” he added.
