Apple just introduced the iPhone 14 series some time ago which offers a major advantage when it comes to satellite connectivity.

The satellite network can work in emergency situations when you cannot connect to the network from the SIM card.

Currently, the satellite functionality of the iPhone 14 series is still limited to iPhone users in the United States. Latest leak, now Samsung is also adopting satellite network functionality for HP’s latest Galaxy flagship, as reported by HT Times.

In fact, Apple isn’t the first company to introduce satellite connectivity features. Because Huawei rolled out this feature on the Mate 50.

This feature allows users to send messages simultaneously from China’s BeiDou Global Satellite Network, without having to depend on the network.

If the user is unable to make an emergency call, you can simply use the mobile operator’s network by tapping Satellite Emergency Text.

Users can also open Messages to text 911 (the emergency phone number in the US and Canada) or SOS, then tap Emergency Services and select Report an emergency.

Before that, the user must first connect their iPhone to the satellite. Once connected, follow the steps to keep your phone connected while sending an emergency message.

Qualcomm chips

Apple just launched the iPhone 14 series some time ago. Turns out the iPhone 14 has a Qualcomm modem chip that can pick up satellite signals so it can send emergency messages when there’s no Wi-Fi or cellular data. .

iFixit unboxes the iPhone 14 Pro Max revealing a Qualcomm X65 modem chip that provides 5G connectivity for cellular networks but is also capable of using the so-called n53 band, the frequency band used by Globalstar satellites.

Globalstar announced that Apple will use up to 85% of Globalstar’s satellite network capacity to enable Apple’s new emergency messaging feature.
