JurnalPatroliNews – Canada, – The decision of the Canadian government to stop all arms shipments to Israel has triggered the anger of the Jewish State which continues blindly to launch attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Today, the besieged Palestinian territory faces a deepening humanitarian crisis, leaving hundreds of thousands of Gazans on the brink of starvation.
We know that Canada is a major ally of the United States, which provides billions of dollars in military aid to Israel each year.
Currently, Canada no longer sends weapons to Israel, but instead turns to non-lethal equipment such as radios.
“The situation on the ground means that we cannot export any military equipment,” a Canadian government official who wished to remain anonymous told AFP, quoted on Wednesday (20/3/24).
In fact, Mélanie Joly, the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, told the Toronto Star newspaper on Tuesday (3/19/24) that Ottawa would stop arms exports to Israel in the future.
Israel condemned the move and Katz, the Israeli foreign minister, said it “undermines Israel's right to defend itself against Hamas.”
“History will judge Canada's current actions harshly,” he said in a post on the social media platform X.
