Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) wins the Formula 1 race (F1) Canadian GP, Monday (20/6/2022).
Verstappen beat Carlos Sainz Jr (Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) who finished second and third F1 Canadian Grand Prix 2022.
This victory means a double for Max Verstappen. The reason for this is that the Dutch driver’s position is strengthening at the top of the F1 driver standings this season.
Additionally, Verstappen’s win record has now risen to 26. He is the ninth rider with the most wins.
The Canadian F1 GP title also allowed Verstappen to overtake two legends, namely Jim Clark and Niki Lauda, who recorded 25 wins.
Verstappen’s record may continue to grow given that there are still 13 series left this season.
It’s not impossible that Verstappen will surpass the win record of Jackie Stewart (27), Nigel Mansell (31) and Fernando Alonso (32) at the end of the season.
The rider with the record for most wins is still held by Lewis Hamilton with 103 times.
Michael Schumacher (91), Sebastian Vettel (53), Alain Prost (51) and Ayrton Senna (41) complete the top five of F1 drivers with the most wins.
