Canadian investors explore cooperation in tourism development in Lumajang

Lumajang, East Java (ANTARA) – Canadian investors are exploring cooperation in efforts to develop tourism destinations in Lumajang Regency, East Java, which is facilitated by the Regional Coordination Council (Bakorwil) V Jember by visiting the one of the main tourist attractions in the local district, namely Air Tumpak Sewu Falls.

“We are supporting Canadian investors who will build a cable car to the Tumpak Sewu Waterfall tourist spot in Lumajang, so that it can be used by tourists visiting there,” said the head of the regional coordination agency ( Bakorwil) V Jember R. Tjahjo Widodo in Lumajang in a press release received by Antara in Lumajang on Thursday.

According to him, the team of investors from the Order of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of Canada, consisting of Paul Hamel, Jan Setter and Rose Marsolais, as well as Bakorwil V Jember, visited the waterfall tourist attraction Tumpak Sewu.

“Their objective in coming to Lumajang is to support the realization of the Government Business Entity (KPBU)/Private Business Entity (KPBU)/Private Business Entity Cooperation Financing Program in accordance with Presidential Decree Number 80 of 2019 Concerning Economic Development in Kertasusila Gate Area, TN-BTS and the south. road, especially around Bromo Tengger Semeru,” he said.

He said the central government wants investors to help advance Lumajang Regency, including one in the tourism sector, which can have an impact on improving the welfare of the people of Lumajang.

In efforts to develop tourism destinations in Lumajang, he continued, the cooperation of all regional officials and relevant parties is truly necessary, so that tourism destinations can be more widely exposed.

“If this can be achieved, tourism destinations in Lumajang Regency can compete with other places, and we are optimistic that tourism destinations in Pisang City can win compared to other places,” he said. -he declares.

Meanwhile, one of the Canadian investors, Paul, said that his party will help facilitate the provision of cable cars in accordance with what was conveyed some time ago by the Regent of Lumajang.

“We first request that a proposal be made, then I will check the proposal and definitely accept it, so that we can advance tourism destinations in Lumajang Regency, so that they can compete with others country,” he said.

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is found in the Glidik River which originates at Mount Semeru and the location of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is in a steep and elongated valley with an altitude of 500 meters above sea level which has a unique formation because it has a water flow that widens like a curtain.
