According to Erick, the timing of the official announcement of the FIFA U-17 logo and mascot should be an encouragement for Indonesia to prepare to host the tournament which will take place from November 10 to December 2.

“By launching the logo and the official mascot of the U-17 World Cup, it means that the moment is getting closer. There are only 69 days left. As well as being greeted with enthusiasm, this must be a time for us to better prepare ourselves. from the preparation of the match arenas in four cities, the coordination of the organizing committee with FIFA must be intensified to ensure that everything runs smoothly. After all, it is a football World Cup, so it there are certainly new things for Indonesia,” Erick Thohir said in an official statement on Saturday.

The logo of the U-17 World Cup 2023 in Indonesia is inspired by the colors of the Indonesian national flag, the turquoise sea and the currents that cross the archipelago. The balloon crown represents the global passion for the game enjoyed around the world.

In the meantime, Bacuya (pale-horned rhinoceros) has become the team mascot of the 24 participating countries. The mascot, whose design is inspired by the one-horned rhino, endemic to Indonesia, is expected to play an important role in inviting the public to come to the stadium to see the actions of young footballers in competition.

“For Indonesia, it is an honor as they have been tasked with organizing a football world championship for future generations of footballers. With 73% of the Indonesian population loving football, I am optimistic that the World Cup U-17 World 2023 will be a success and bring many fans to the stadium. Indonesia, who have been planned by FIFA to occupy Group A, await their potential opponents who will be drawn in Switzerland on September 15, 2023.
