Prime Minister Trudeau is one of the heads of state President Jokowi will meet bilaterally, alongside leaders from dozens of other countries, including Japan, South Korea, China and Australia.

President Jokowi is due to meet with the Secretary General of the United Nations and the leaders of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

So far, Retno said, Indonesia has registered 13 requests for a bilateral meeting with President Jokowi on the sidelines of the 43rd ASEAN Summit to be held at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, from May 5 to September 7, 2023.

The summit will bring together 22 countries, including 11 ASEAN countries, including Timor Leste and nine dialogue partner countries.

Among the leaders who will attend the ASEAN summit, Foreign Minister Retno confirmed the participation of US Vice President Kamala Harris, Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.

At the same time, Russia, as a dialogue partner of ASEAN, will send its Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to the summit.

The 43rd ASEAN Summit was held under the chairmanship of Indonesia under the theme “ASEAN, the epicenter of growth”. Through this theme, Indonesia wishes to maintain the relevance of ASEAN so that it is able to face various challenges in the future. regional stability and peace.
