National team coach: Schroeder is yet to play in ‘basketball form’

National basketball coach Gordon Herbert sees potential for improvement with captain Dennis Schroeder when it comes to the World Cup. “He is in shape. It’s not into what they call tip-top basketball yet. The coach said before the second World Cup test in Berlin against Canada in the first test against Sweden (87:68) Schroeder had 17 points last Saturday, but before that since playing. – He will no longer play for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA at the end of May. “I had an Achilles problem at the end of the season. And all the time out of season too. It was treated – and now I’m just trying to get back to 100 per cent.”said Schroeder.

Heading to the World Cups in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines (August 25-September 10), Schroeder has plenty of plans to test against Canada: “We want to win every game we play. This is how we think as a team. We have to defend as a team and play freely on offense,” said the point guard, who will play for the Toronto Raptors in the future.
