Three Indonesian representatives advance to main round of Thailand Open 2023

Badminton News: Five Indonesian representatives took part in the qualifying round, three of which qualified for the main round of the Thailand Open World Tour Super 500 tournament which was held at the Huamark Indoor Stadium in Bangkok.

Mixed doubles duo Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah became the first red and white representatives to advance to the main round of the 2023 Thailand Open after defeating South Korean duo, Kim Young Hyuk/Lee Yu Lim, in a 17-21, 21-13 and 21-17 draw.

Earlier, in the first qualifying round of the morning session, Adnan/Nita managed to get rid of Malaysian representatives Hoo Pang Ron/Teoh Mei Xing with back-to-back games 21-14, 21-16.

Indonesian professional men’s doubles pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama / Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani successfully qualified for the main round of Thailand Open 2023 beating Malaysian representatives Goh V Shem / Lim Kim Wah at through a tight rubber game battle with the score at 25-23, 16-21 and 21-16.

Previously, in the first qualifying round of the morning session, Sabar/Reza managed to get rid of Canada’s representatives, Kevin Lee/Ty Alexander Lindeman 21-10 and 21-10 quite easily.

In the Round of 16 at the Thailand Open 2023 on Wednesday (5/31), Sabar/Reza will challenge fellow Cipayung National Training Center compatriots Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin.

Meanwhile, in the women’s doubles sector, young couple Meilysa Trias Puspitasari/Rachel Allessya Rose managed to hold a ticket to the main round of the Thailand Open 2023 by defeating representatives of the United States, Srivedya Gurazada/ Ishika Jaiswal in two fairly easy consecutive matches. with a score of 21-7 21-13.
