Before coming to Indonesia, Canada played its last preparation match before the 2023 Basketball World Cup against the Dominican Republic in Granada, Spain, on Saturday (19/8). Canada lost 88-94 after Fernandez abandoned his reserves against the Dominicans, fielded by Minnesota Timberwolves bigman Karl-Anthony Towns.
