Canadian Olympic medalist Elvis Stojko to guest star on CBC comedy 'One More Time'

EXCLUSIVE: Elvis Stojko, two-time Canadian Olympic medalist, guest stars on CBC comedy Once again.

We first see the popular figure skater, who will appear in the seventh episode of the Counterfeit Pictures series. The episode, titled “Lazer Blade,” will air on Tuesday, February 20 as well as on the CBC Gem streaming channel.

Stojko will perform alongside star DJ Demers (Image: BBC)Tonight's program) in the workplace, in which Demers, a hearing-impaired manager of a second-hand sporting goods store, leads a team of “enthusiastic” employees.

The figure skater won two consecutive Olympic silver medals at Lillehammer 1994 and Nagano 1998, as well as three world titles and seven national titles (1994, 1996-2000, 2002). He was inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 2011.

“Elvis Stojko is a Canadian icon and a huge part of my childhood – which is crazy because he doesn't even look that much older than me. Men age like good wine,” Demers said. “Having him as a guest on this show is a pleasure. The cast and writers were delighted when he agreed to join the film. The episode is definitely one of my favorites this season.

Demers joins Once again by Geri Hall (Astrid and Lilly save the world, it's 22 minutes), Daniel Beirne (Ginny and Georgia, working mothers, Fargo); Elise Bauman (Carmilla, working mom, newcomer Seran Sathiyaseelan; and Dayton Sinkia (Letterkenny, the tension).
